Keeping busy

The month is already well on its way and we're running a bit late as usual. Not that we'd even have a precise release date though, which is helpful when you’re rounding up content on the last minute. With our kind of schedule, it would be funny to see how Scoute would perform as a print mag. But as one very inspirational designer recently said to me, being online gives an incredible advantage from the constraints of advertising and industry.

September marks the time for New York's fashion week, which unfortunately so far has been very uninspiring to me apart from a couple of designers. Many labels portrayed rehashed looks inspired by classic sportswear making some runway shows more like an attack of the clones. I was unable to attend Robert Geller's show yesterday as I won’t be in NYC until October, but thankfully we had a couple of good people present and judging from pictures and their word, the collection is looking very solid. In addition to New York, this issue will take you from London to Laos through some interesting stories in the fields of fashion and travel. I’m also already excited about our october issue as I've just finished chatting to one of my favourite designers at the moment, Boris Bidjan Saberi. So be sure to check back for the interview and send in your thoughts!

Marc J. | "My little brother will probably be pissed that I stole a couple of the photos he took during our trip to Laos and claimed them as my own, but hey, I can still kick my little brother's ass. So, what are you going to do about it?" Marc is a long time resident of Los Angeles who spent two weeks traversing 'The Land of a Million Elephants’.

Arto M. | “In addition to getting the chance to talk to one of my favourite designers and keeping busy over current and upcoming content for Scoute, this month I also spent time in my garage making a knock-off Jonathan Monk painting, which no one seemed to quite get.."

Regina Libian | Regina sat down with good friends of hers who make up the infamous duo dubbed as Ludachrist. Read the interview with these mashup maniacs in september's music feature.

Ssnnaa | "It took nearly
an hour before we got in
and the show itself was
over in 5 minutes, but
it was a great experience
to see Robert Geller's
runway show."
Ssnaa was
unable to locate her press
pass at the show, but
managed to grab some
good pictures regardless.
Things in NYC never go
the way you plan anyway.
