California coast
by A.M.

It took me two weeks to figure out whether it was smart to drive my car up the coast, or simply catch a plane to San Francisco. The holiday season didn't really help, would it make airports more crowded or completely clutter the highway? I asked several people and pretty much all answers were on the fence, perhaps driving takes more time and flying might seem quicker. But with driving to LAX, all the necessary time there prior to the flight, hauling luggage; driving seemed efficient after all.

I chose to take the coast route while I was at it, figured it might be a few hours longer but more enjoyable. I ended up getting sick the night before my departure, which wasn't a good combination with narrow roads 2000ft above sea level. The trip however, ended up being worth it. The coast is simply stunning from the foggy cliffs to the rocky shoreline. Watching the waves hit the Pigeon Point lighthouse made my nausea go away for a while.
